Side Material & Spin-offs

Ultraman Vol.1 Operation Gold Rush

ウルトラマン VOL.1 ゴールドラッシュ作戦

The story in this novel depicts the SSSP and Ultraman struggling to keep the two kaijus — Zigris and Mundera, from emerging onto the surface. While there's no mention about when do these events occur in the main show's timeline, it does make reference to the kaiju Keylla from the 38th episode.
Ultraman Novelization

小説 ウルトラマン

Originally titled "Kaiju Complete Works 3: Kaiju Picture Story Ultraman" (怪獣大全集3 怪獣絵物語ウルトラマン) in 1967. It's the entirety of Ultraman's show in book form, but with minor differences: Hayata's characterization is fleshed out, and some kaijus' debut appearances have changed to a different setting. The story was reprinted in 2002 and comes with "The Eiji Tsuburaya Story" and "Ultraseven" novels in addition. By 2014, the original Kaiju Complete Works 3: Kaiju Picture Story Ultraman was re-released by fukkan.com.
Ultraman: Operation Giant

ウルトラマン ジャイアント作戦

The novel is based off the original script of a planned Ultraman movie of the same name that never got produced.
